Physically attending a live Rabin auction has many benefits — for one, there's nothing like being up close and personal with the actual equipment you're interested in bidding on. Although you may not always have the time to travel to an auction personally, it does have its advantages, and here are some of them:
• Being in-person at an auction can be a much more individualized experience — you'll have the opportunity to meet our team at the auction site and connect face to face.
• You'll have direct contact with the auctioneer and other bidders.
• Get to meet with your industry peers and better understand the competition for each item.
• Have the opportunity to be able to read the auctioneer and other bidders, and bid using your best "poker face."
• You may be able to influence the grouping of auction items by expressing direct interest in a group to the auctioneer.
• Kick the tires. You can visually inspect all the equipment and take measurements.
• Get the inside scoop on items from our set-up staff. For example, if we have identical batches of items being sold as "buyer's choice," you may be able to glean some hints about which ones to choose should you win the bid.
• Instant gratification. With smaller items, you can often remove it from the building right after you win and pay your invoice.
• Our auction set-up teams are often able to provide you advice on crating, packing and shipping: What size truck will you need? Can you and your neighbor share a container? You'll need a half container for that stuff, or this type of vehicle to ship your items purchased. Go see so-and-so from XYZ Dismantling - they are the perfect contractor to get your stuff moved to your facility.
• You'll get out of the office. Take advantage of a change of scene, where one can often gain a new perspective.
• Food and Fun! Auctions can be lively, entertaining events and we keep our bidders comfortable and fed.
• Avoid possible connection problems and computer crashes associated with remote bidding when you're on-site at an auction.
